The site angle

Power problems announce themselves early. Most sites are not set up to hear it.

A tripped main board does not just cost the twenty minutes it takes to reset. It costs the crew standing still, the pour that stalls, and somebody walking the site to work out which sub-board caused it.

Two outcomes for the site: fewer unplanned stoppages, and a record of what the temporary supply actually did across the whole build.

On the commercial side: consumption per board and per period, evidence when somebody else's kit is the cause, and generator running that can be corrected before it damages the set.

Fewer standing-around hours

A predictive alarm on load, phase imbalance or voltage reaches the site phone before the fuse goes. The fix happens between pours instead of during one.

Hot connections found early

A connection heating up on the board shows as a temperature alarm while it is still a tightening job rather than a cabinet fire.

Consumption on record

Load, voltage and measured consumption per board across the whole build. MID-grade metering is available as an accessory where the figure has to be billable.

Generator load management

On generator jobs, the separate Spine generator device switches an auxiliary load on when demand drops too low, and off again as it rises. The set stays in working condition longer.

Which boards does Spine monitor?

Spine reads 3-phase distribution boards, both the site main board and the sub-boards under it — generators, transformers and distribution panels. One live view of load, phase balance, voltage, temperature and consumption per board.

Does it need site Wi-Fi?

No, and that is rather the point on a site that has no network yet. Every unit has a built-in eSIM and connects over 4G on power-up. It does depend on a cellular signal, so deep basements, tunnels and shielded structures are worth checking before you order.

How long does installation take?

Plug & Play unit on a standard 3-phase distribution board: under 15 minutes per board, no electrical certification needed beyond the board's existing first-fix. Data starts flowing within five minutes of connection. The built-in variant is configured at the TSR-Elsite factory and arrives pre-commissioned.

Does Spine switch anything off by itself?

No, and that is deliberate. The standard system measures and warns; your team decides what to do about it. It does not replace your site electrical design. The one exception is the separate generator device, which switches an auxiliary load on and off to keep a genset correctly loaded.

What does Spine cost?
