  • Capacity 50 l/24 h (30 °C, RH 80 %)
  • Covers 50–120 m², air flow 590 m³/h
  • WiFi control with iOS and Android app
  • 7-litre tank or continuous hose drainage
  • Power 700 W, weight 37 kg
  • R290 refrigerant, running-hour meters as standard
  • No condensate pump – see the 65L PRO for a pumped model

Dehumidifier Staring SW50L with WiFi is a professional refrigerant dehumidifier for large construction sites and renovation projects. It removes up to 50 litres of water per day and dries spaces of 50–120 square metres. Air flow is 590 cubic metres per hour, so the air keeps moving even in high rooms.

Who is the Dehumidifier Staring SW50L with WiFi for?

The model is built for construction sites, large renovation projects, halls, big basements and drying after water damage.

It is the right choice when there is more than 50 square metres to dry, or when the drying has to be finished quickly. For smaller spaces the series offers a lighter 30-litre version.

Same cabinet, almost double the capacity

The outer dimensions match the 30-litre model exactly: 472 x 435 x 653 millimetres. Capacity is still almost double and air flow nearly twice as high.

In practice the unit fits the same spaces and the same lifts, but dries a much larger area. Weight is 37 kilograms, eight kilos more than the smaller model.

WiFi control keeps the drying on schedule

The unit is monitored and adjusted with an iOS or Android app. The app shows the room humidity and the running state in real time.

When a site has several dehumidifiers running, the app tells you immediately if one has stopped or a tank is full. Electronic humidity control starts and stops the unit automatically at the level you set, so no electricity is wasted on an already dry room.

One large unit or two smaller ones?

On a big site it is worth deciding whether to dry the whole space with one unit or to split the work between several positions.

  • One powerful unit is enough when the space is open and the air can circulate freely
  • Two units work better when the space is divided by walls or spread over floors
  • Separate rooms almost always need their own unit or a fan to move the air
  • The target schedule decides: the faster the space has to be dry, the more capacity is needed
  • Capacity drops in the cold, so heating and drying should run at the same time

The principles of moisture management during construction are collected in the Finnish Kuivaketju10 operating model, where drying is part of managing the moisture risks of the whole project.

Water tank or continuous drainage?

The unit has a 7-litre tank with a full-tank sensor that stops it before the tank can overflow.

At full capacity the tank fills quickly, so a drain hose is the practical choice for long drying jobs. The water runs to a floor drain by gravity. The Dehumidifier Staring SW50L with WiFi has no condensate pump, so the drain point has to sit lower than the unit.

Why the Dehumidifier Staring SW50L with WiFi survives site conditions

On site a dehumidifier meets concrete dust, vibration and constant moving. The protected fan and the washable filter are dimensioned for exactly that.

A rotary compressor and R290 refrigerant give good capacity in relation to power consumption. The unit has two running-hour meters: a total counter and a separately resettable trip counter. In rental use the trip counter shows the hours run on a single site.

Operation and maintenance on site

Place the unit on a level surface in the middle of the space to be dried. Keep the intake and outlet clear and close doors and windows, so it dries the room and not the outdoor air.

Clean the filter weekly – a blocked filter drops the capacity quickly. Check daily that the drain hose runs freely. Transport the unit upright and let it stand for two hours before starting if it has been on its side.

R290 refrigerant keeps the environmental impact low

The refrigerant is propane, R290, whose global warming potential is very low compared with traditional HFC refrigerants.

The charge is small and the circuit is sealed. Efficiency is good and the unit still meets refrigerant requirements in the years ahead.

Frequently asked questions

How large a space does the Dehumidifier Staring SW50L with WiFi dry?

The unit is rated for 50–120 square metres. Real capacity depends on ceiling height, temperature and how well sealed the space is.

What is the difference between the 30- and 50-litre models?

The cabinet, the dimensions and the controls are the same. The difference is in capacity, air flow and weight: the 50-litre model removes almost twice as much water and moves 590 cubic metres of air per hour.

Does the unit have a condensate pump?

No. Water is collected in the 7-litre tank or led away by gravity through a hose. A pumped model is needed when the water has to be lifted upwards.

Does the Dehumidifier Staring SW50L with WiFi work in a cold space?

The operating range is 5–35 °C. Capacity falls with the temperature, so below ten degrees it is worth heating the space at the same time.

How much electricity does it use?

Power input is 700 watts. Automatic humidity control stops the unit at the target level, so real consumption stays below continuous running.

How loud is the unit?

The noise level is 56 decibels, about the level of normal speech, so the unit can run in spaces where people are working.

Does the unit have a running-hour meter?

Yes, two of them: a total counter and a separately resettable trip counter. In rental use the trip counter shows the hours run on one site.
