Where the Connector 6-95mm is used

Connector 6-95mm – installation and maintenance

A qualified electrician carries out the installation and any changes. First, make the board dead, and then verify this by measurement.

A poor joint does not show from the outside. However, it heats up under load, and the heat damages first the insulation and then the busbar.

Check the joint after the first day under load and regularly after that. An aluminium conductor needs more frequent checks than copper, because aluminium creeps under tightening.

Also clean the conductor end before connecting. Use contact compound for aluminium if the manufacturer says so, since an oxidised surface raises the contact resistance.

Safety

Site electrical installations must meet the same requirements as fixed ones, and some are stricter. For this reason, inspect the board at commissioning and regularly during use.

The inspection covers the enclosure, the joints and the protective devices. It also confirms that nobody can reach live parts.

Do not repair a damaged part on site. Instead, replace a burnt connector or a cracked enclosure, because a temporary repair on site almost always becomes permanent.
