Floor center with phase load measurement IMKK-HUB 63A/VM

Floor center with phase load measurement IMKK-HUB 63A/VM

The center has meters that monitor the load of each of the three phases. The phase-specific meter measures current and voltage. In addition, the meter acts as an indicator light, which indicates that current is coming to the phase.

Thanks to step-by-step measurement, it is possible to monitor the even distribution of the load between the phases on the construction site, avoid skewed loads and thus prevent unnecessary phase overloads and tripping of fuses.

The narrow shape of the center is designed so that the center takes up as little space as possible in the corridors of the construction site. The center is made of 2mm powder-coated aluminium and has a light structure. The center is easy to hang on the wall from the hanging loops.

In the IMKK center, the supply takes place via a plug-in switch from the bottom of the center and chaining through to the next floor from the top of the center.

The center is manufactured in Finland and uses only high-quality European components such as PCE and Schneider. All parts of the center are available as spare parts. Changes can also be made to the center according to the customer’s wishes, e.g. the number and size of the boxes can be modified.

Floor center with phase load measurement IMKK-HUB 63A/VM

Floor center with phase load measurement IMKK-HUB 63A/VM on the worksite

A floor distribution board brings power to where the work is done. Placed on the working floor, it removes the need to run extension cords through stairwells.

Short cords are both a safety and a quality matter: a long cord causes voltage drop and is a permanent trip hazard.

This model is rated 63 A. Size the equipment by the actual simultaneous load – the sum of the nameplate ratings almost always leads to oversizing.

Outputs: 6 x 16A/230V suko, 2 x 16A, 1 x 32A, 1 x 63A. Count the work points before choosing – the number of outputs decides how many machines one board can feed.

Where Floor center with phase load measurement IMKK-HUB 63A/VM is used

Typical sites are construction projects, renovations, industrial maintenance and event power. What they share is that the electrical supply is temporary and the conditions are demanding.

Temporary does not mean lighter requirements. Site equipment is exposed to dust, moisture, moving and mechanical stress in a way that fixed installations never are.

Check the load distribution between phases during use. Uneven distribution overloads one phase while the others run half empty, and the usual symptom is a fuse that keeps tripping.

Floor center with phase load measurement IMKK-HUB 63A/VM – how to choose the right model

The equipment is chosen by rated current and outputs. Start by calculating the simultaneous load and the output types needed, and choose the model on that basis.

Other models of the same type are Subcabinet for floorlevels TAK 63/100A, Subcabinet for floorlevels TAK 63/100A PRO KS, Fixed input floor distribution board 63A/125A/VM chaining 125A, Fixed input floor distribution board 63A/125A/VM fixed 32A outputs, Fixed input floor distribution board 63A/125A/VM fixed 32A + 63A outputs.

Other details that affect the choice: protection class IP44, RCD 2 x 30mA, 1 x 300 mA, weight 13,4 kg, dimensions 95×30×22 cm. These are worth checking already at the quotation stage.

Practical notes for use

Winter brings requirements of its own. Condensation forms when cold equipment is brought into the warm, and moisture inside the enclosure is a common reason for an RCD tripping with no visible cause.

Mark the equipment with the site details and keep a record of what is fed from where. On a site with several contractors that saves time at every fault-finding.

RCD protection is mandatory for socket outputs on a site. Its operation is tested with the test button at commissioning and at regular intervals afterwards.

Floor center with phase load measurement IMKK-HUB 63A/VM – installation and maintenance

Installation and connection work is carried out by a qualified electrician. The equipment must be made dead before connection work, and the absence of voltage verified by measurement.

Place the equipment on level ground and so that it can be reached freely even when the site fills up with material. Material stacked in front blocks both use and emergency isolation.

Test the RCD with its test button at commissioning and at regular intervals afterwards. The test takes a second and is still almost always forgotten.

The unit weighs 13,4 kg. Take the weight into account when moving and lifting – damage is most often caused during transport, not in use.

Check the joints and fixings regularly during use. A joint that heats up is a sign of a fault and should be corrected before the fault spreads.

Safety and inspections

Site electrical installations are subject to the same requirements as fixed installations, and some of them are stricter. The equipment has to withstand moving, dust, moisture and mechanical stress for the whole project.

The installation is inspected at commissioning and regularly during use: enclosure, joints, the operation of the protective devices and the fact that live parts cannot be reached.

Damaged equipment is not repaired improvised on site. A cracked enclosure, a burnt terminal or a damaged socket is replaced – on a site a temporary repair almost always becomes permanent.

Document the configuration and any changes made. Up-to-date information on outputs and protection speeds up fault-finding and the next inspection.

Delivery and sizing help

We deliver the equipment together with the cables and the rest of the site power supply in one delivery, so the set is complete when it arrives on site.

Describe the whole site in your request for quotation: supply power, the outputs needed and the estimated length of the project. We size the set on that basis.

We also help with the sizing. If you are unsure about the size or the number of outputs, ask us – equipment sized wrong costs more than equipment chosen right the first time.
