Dependable power from the tractor power take-off
We supply a wide range of tractor-driven PTO generators (power take-off) that produce electricity straight from the tractor power take-off, with no separate engine. The range is built for demanding agricultural, standby power and industrial use.
The EZG models are developed and manufactured in Germany, which underpins their mechanical durability, electrical reliability and long service life.

Endress EZG series PTO generators
The Endress EZG series offers tractor-driven PTO generators that produce electricity directly from the tractor power take-off, without a separate engine. The range is designed for demanding agricultural, standby power and industrial use, and it meets the safety requirements of the German agricultural accident insurance association (DGUV).
Technical features shared by all EZG models
Every generator in the Endress EZG II/TN-S series has the following key features:
- Switchable between IT and TN networks → allows both field use (IT network) and feeding a building electrical installation (TN network).
- Insulation monitoring → watches the condition of the electrical system in an IT network and keeps mobile use safe.
- Automatic safety shutdown → protects the generator and the user during overload or a fault.
- All-phase circuit breaker → protects the building installation when connected to a TN network.
- Running hour counter → makes it possible to follow servicing and running history.
- Frequency and voltage display → helps manage the load and confirms the accuracy of the 400 V / 50 Hz supply.
- Indicator lights for speed adjustment (a traffic light function) → makes it easy to set the correct power take-off speed.
- Sturdy steel frame with fork pockets → easy to move and built for hard use.
- Three-point linkage (category 2 or 3) → safe and stable attachment to the tractor.
- German design and manufacture → solid construction and high electrical accuracy.
⚡ IT and TN networks – the difference and why it matters
IT network (isolated terra – isolated from earth):
- Used in field conditions or in mobile work, such as in fields and in service vehicles.
- The generator runs electrically isolated from earth, which reduces the risk of electric shock if a single fault occurs.
- An insulation monitoring device watches continuously for earth leakage and raises an alarm in good time.
TN network (terra neutral – earthed neutral point):
- Used when the generator is connected to a building electrical network or to a standby power connection.
- The neutral point of the generator is earthed, and protection follows the building own electrical installation.
- A miniature circuit breaker (MCB) protects against overload and short circuits.
In practice: the IT mode is the safe one for mobile use, while the TN mode lets the generator serve as standby power in a building network. On EZG series machines the choice is made with a switch.
🚜 Operating principle and speed control
EZG series generators are connected directly to the tractor power take-off (PTO shaft). The frequency and voltage of the electricity depend on the speed of the power take-off:
- The optimum power take-off speed is 430–450 rpm, which corresponds to an engine speed of roughly 1500 rpm.
- The correct speed keeps the frequency at a steady 50 Hz and the voltage at 400 V.
- The indicator light system (traffic light function) shows when the correct speed has been reached.
Power range and recommended tractor power
EZG series generators are available in several size classes, typically from 15 to 100 kVA, and they suit different tractor power classes:
| Generator model | Output (kVA / kW) | Recommended tractor power (hp) | Three-point linkage |
| EZG 25/2 II/TN-S | 22 / 17.6 | approx. 50 hp | Cat. 2 |
| EZG 40/4 II/TN-S | 40 / 32 | approx. 80 hp | Cat. 2 |
| EZG 60/4 II/TN-S | 60 / 48 | approx. 120 hp | Cat. 2 |
| EZG 80/4 II/TN-S | 80 / 64 | approx. 160 hp | Cat. 3 |
| EZG 100/4 II/TN-S | 100 / 80 | approx. 200 hp | Cat. 3 |
Applications
- Farms and livestock farms – power in the fields, for grain dryers and as standby power in cattle houses
- Construction and service work – electricity for sites and mobile installations
- Industry and standby power – a backup source for critical systems
- Service vehicles and field use – mobile power sources
