Submersible pump Vortex 100M – construction

The casing and the impeller are stainless steel (AISI304). The shaft, in turn, is acid-proof steel (AISI316).

The pump is a two-chamber electric pump with a mechanical seal. The seal ring sits on the motor side, and the pump also has mechanical oil-bath seals.

In addition, the oil-bath motor takes care of cooling and bearing lubrication. Stainless and acid-proof steel resist corrosion, so they suit wastewater.

Use and float switch

The float switch starts and stops the pump by the liquid level. Thus the pump can run without constant supervision.

The liquid can contain particles up to 50 mm. Also, you can immerse the pump to a depth of up to 5 metres.

The liquid temperature can be up to 25 °C when the pump is partly submerged. However, when fully submerged, the limit is 35 °C.

Choosing a pump

Choose this pump when the water contains large solids. Its flow is 400 l/min, and the head is also 10.5 m.

For sandy and muddy water, the STP2-500 sludge pump set suits better. For pumping nearly dry, choose the STP2-480DW flat suction pump set.

Submersible pump Vortex 100M – safety

The connection cable is a 10 m H07RN-F rubber cable with a plug. Moreover, IP68 and insulation class F describe the pump protection and motor insulation.

Never lift or lower the pump by its power cable. Instead, use a rope or the handle, and keep the plug dry above the water.

Also connect the pump to an RCD-protected socket, and wear protective gloves with wastewater. A qualified electrician does repairs; the requirements are on the Tukes website.
