WorkLite 48V Safety – light during a power outage

On site, a power outage can occur in the middle of the working day, for example because of a supply change or a fault. A standard light then goes out at once.

The battery of the safety model, however, keeps the light on during the outage. As a result, people on stairs, in shafts and on scaffolding can leave safely.

Place safety models especially on exit routes and in stairwells. Elsewhere, standard WorkLite lights are enough.

Otherwise, the safety model is like other WorkLite lights: daisy-chainable and resistant to impacts and vibration.

Placing safety models

Safety models connect to the same 48-volt lighting system as other WorkLite lights. Therefore, no separate network is needed.

Mark in the plan which lights are safety models. That way, they go to the right places when the lighting moves from floor to floor.

The power comes, for example, from the HUB-48VDC lighting transformer.

Comparison with other models

Without a battery, the same power is available as the WorkLite 48V 21W. A mixed system, where only some lights are safety models, is often cost-effective.

WorkLite 48V Safety – safety

Safety extra-low voltage (48 V) reduces the risk of electric shock in wet and cramped worksite conditions. Installing the light does not require an electrician’s authorisation. Even so, check the light and cables before installation, and take a damaged light out of use.
