WorkLite Mini 21W Safety – when the power goes off

When the site supply fails, a standard light goes out immediately. On stairs or scaffolding, however, darkness is a real hazard.

The battery-equipped safety model keeps lighting during the power cut. As a result, workers can move and leave the area safely.

Otherwise, it works like other WorkLite models. For example, it is chainable and withstands impacts and vibration.

Where to place safety models

You do not need safety models everywhere. Instead, place them on escape routes, in stairwells and where the risk of tripping or falling is highest.

They connect to the same 48 V system as the other lights, for example a HUB-48VDC lighting transformer. In addition, mark them in the lighting plan so the layout survives site moves.

WorkLite Mini 21W Safety – safety

The low 48 V voltage reduces the risk of electric shock in wet and cramped site conditions. Installing the light needs no electrician’s authorisation. However, check the light and leads first, and take a damaged light out of use.

A qualified electrician connects the lighting transformer to the mains. The requirements for electrical work are described on the Tukes website.
