BAU LED T-branch 230V – when you need a branch

The area to be lit on a worksite is not always a straight line. For example, a corridor may branch, or you need light in both a staircase and on a floor level.

With the T-branch, you split the line in two directions from the same feed point. As a result, the second direction needs no cable or socket of its own.

In addition, branching reduces the extension cords running across walkways, which keeps the site tidier.

Planning a branched line

First draw the lines to be lit on a floor plan and mark the branch points. Then work out how much strip each direction needs.

You can chain up to 60 m of BAU LED 2 strip after one connection cable. Therefore count the strips in both directions of the branch together when you plan the chain.

Leave an end cap on the last strip of each branch, so the connection stays protected.

Place the branch point so that the connection does not hang over a walkway. Fix the strips firmly on both sides of the branch, so the connection is not under strain.

Strips and other accessories

The branch works, for example, with the 10 m BAU-LED 2 strip. Power enters the line through a 1.5 m connection cable.

You can replace a lost or broken cap with an end cap spare part.

BAU LED T-branch 230V – safety

The branch is part of a 230 V lighting line. Before use, check that the connections are fully closed and tight.

Always make changes to the line with the power off, so unplug the connection cable first. The Tukes website explains the requirements for electrical work.
