One output for smaller sites

A single-output transformer suits sites where one lighting line is enough. Examples include a single floor, a stairwell or a storage area.

A 16 A thermomagnetic overcurrent protection device protects the output. An overload or short circuit therefore cuts the line, and you can locate the fault easily.

Choosing the right transformer

First count the lights for the area. If you have max. 20 lights, the Transformer VMKK-630 is enough.

However, when you have more lights or need two separately protected lines, choose the two-output VMKK-1500.

Leave spare capacity on the line for lights you add later. That way, the protection does not trip unnecessarily.

On a larger site, you can use several transformers, for example one per floor. As a result, a fault in one transformer does not black out the whole building.

In addition, divide the circuits by area. With its own transformer for each area, you can switch the lighting off and on area by area as the work progresses.

Transformer VMKK-630 – installation

A transformer rack mounts the transformer neatly on the wall. It suits both the VMKK-630 and the VMKK-1500.

You connect the lights to the trunk line of the output. For the trunk line, for example, use the 2×2.5 mm² lighting cable.

The transformer feeds 48-volt work lights such as WorkLite 48V LED work lights. The system is covered on the page general lighting with safety extra-low voltage.

Transformer VMKK-630 – safety

Safety extra-low voltage (48 V) reduces the risk of electric shock in wet conditions.

Check the transformer before each new installation: the housing, the connections and the overcurrent protection. Repair or replace a damaged unit before use.
